female celebrities - Tara Reid

Tara Reid

Tara Reid (born November 8, 1975, Wyckoff, New Jersey) is an American actress and model who has starred in films such as American Pie (1999) and Dr. T & the Women. In 2005, she played the lead in videogame adaptation Alone in the Dark. She is of Irish, English, Hungarian, French, and Italian descent.

Reid began her career at the age of six in 1982 on the short-lived game show Child's Play. As a child she had roles in a number of commercials for McDonald's, Crayola, and Jell-O. She grew up in New York City, and attended the Professional Children's School alongside such celebrities as Ben Taylor, Jerry O'Connell, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Macaulay Culkin. Reid spent the late 1990s appearing more often on the cover of tabloid magazines than on screen. Her extroverted social life soon gave her a reputation as a party girl — in fact, U.S. magazine In Touch recently voted Reid "top party animal".

Although her breakthrough role was in American Pie in 1999, followers of the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski already knew her as Bunny Lebowski. She has appeared as J.D.'s (Zach Braff) unfaithful girlfriend in the NBC comedy Scrubs.

On the night of Thursday November 4, 2004, Reid was embarrassed by a wardrobe malfunction at a highly publicized photo shoot at P. Diddy's thirty-fifth birthday party at Cipriani's Restaurant in New York when her dress fell, exposing her left breast. Scar tissue was visible around Reid's nipple, confirming rumors of breast implants. The photographs were widely distributed. In August 2005 she finally admitted having had her breasts augmented. [1]

Her half-hour television show on the E! network, Taradise premiered in September 2005, but was cancelled the following month.

Teri Lynn Hatcher (born December 8, 1964 in Sunnyvale, California) is an American actress. She gained attention for her role as Lois Lane in the television series Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and has achieved her greatest fame and acclaim starring in the show Desperate Housewives.

Hatcher's father was a nuclear physicist and her mother was a computer scientist (both of English descent). She attended Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. In 1994, she married actor Jon Tenney; they had a daughter, Emerson Rose, and later divorced.

sexy celebrities - Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Sarah Michelle Gellar (born April 14, 1977) is an American actress, best known for her role in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Some of her most commercially successful films have been horror films such as The Grudge (2004), but she has also acted in a variety of other genres, from family films like Scooby-Doo (2002) to thrillers like Harvard Man (2001).

Biography

Her family

Gellar was born in New York City to Jewish-American parents Arthur and Rosellen. After her parents divorced in 1984, she was brought up by her mother. She refuses to acknowledge any relationship with her father saying "Just because you donate sperm does not make you a father." Arthur died on October 9, 2001 of unknown causes.

Life and career

She has been acting since the age of four, when she did a commercial for Burger King. Her best friend as a child was Melissa Joan Hart, who later was the star of the television series Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

Acting roles

Gellar's major break came in 1992 in the teen soap opera Swan's Crossing. From there, she moved on to the long-running soap opera All My Children, where she played the conniving character Kendall Hart, the long-lost daughter of character Erica Kane (played by Susan Lucci). In 1995, at the age of 18, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in a Drama Series.

James Marsters as Spike and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy in season six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer © 2001 20th Century Fox TelevisionGellar left All My Children in 1995 and landed the lead in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, created by Joss Whedon, as a teenager burdened with the responsibility of fighting a number of mystical foes, with the aid of a group of friends and her Watcher (a teacher of sorts). The show was well received by critics and audiences alike, and throughout its seven seasons, Buffy, and Gellar along with her, became cult icons in the United States and the UK. Gellar also sang several of the songs during the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode "Once More, with Feeling," which spawned an original cast album. While continuing in that role, she attempted to capitalize on her television fame in order to create a career for herself in motion pictures, with intermittent commercial success. After roles in the popular thrillers I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2, Gellar starred in the film Simply Irresistible. This film, rumored to be the last film ever watched by critic Gene Siskel, featured a magical crab and borrowed heavily from Like Water for Chocolate. Gellar's next film was the steamy hit Cruel Intentions, a modern-day retelling of Les Liaisons Dangereuses; this movie gained much exposure due to a famous girl on girl kissing scene between Sarah and Selma Blair. Also in 1999, she made an appearance in the Stone Temple Pilots music video Sour Girl. She then went on to play a lead role in Harvard Man.

Personal life

On September 1, 2002, Gellar and teen-movie actor Freddie Prinze Jr. were married in Mexico.

Scooby-Doo

Gellar found greater box office success playing Daphne in Scooby-Doo, a live-action adaption of the cartoon series. Despite being universally panned by critics, the movie was highly popular with audiences. Gellar also appeared in the movie's sequel, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004).

Movies

The year of 2004 was marked by a point of controversy in Gellar's career, as the president of the talent agency representing Geller, David Wirtschafter, told the The New Yorker that the success of Gellar's low-budget film The Grudge (a remake of the Japanese horror film Ju-on: The Grudge) "takes our client Sarah Michelle Gellar, who now is nothing at all, and it makes her a star, potentially. Suddenly, the Sarah Michelle Gellar space is meaningful." The remark led to Gellar abandoning the agency. In January 2005 Gellar signed for the movie The Return which she started filming in March of that same year. Gellar finished filming The Return in April 2005 and started filming Southland Tales, a film by Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly in August 2005. Sarah finished filming Southland Tales in October 2005. Next she will be filming "The Air I Breathe" with co-stars Diego Luna, Kevin Bacon and Ken Watanabe in January 2006 in Mexico City. Production for A Girl's Guide For Hunting And Fishing , based on the book of the same name and co-starring Alec Baldwin will start in May 2006. Both The Return and Southland Tales are expected to be released in 2006. Also in that same year, Gellar is expected to start filming Alice based on the game from American McGee.

sexy celebrities - Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone

Sharon Vonne Stone (born March 10, 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania) is an American actress, model (height: 5 ft 7 in (1.70 m)), and producer with ancestral roots in Galway, Ireland. She came to international attention for her performance in the 1992 blockbuster film Basic Instinct, which caused controversy for its erotic content. She was one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood in the 1990s, until she moved to San Francisco to live with her husband and raise their adopted son. When that marriage dissolved, Stone returned to Los Angeles and resumed her film career.

Early life and education

Stone was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, USA, a town south of Erie. The second of four children, she is the daughter of Joe and Dorothy Stone, who were blue collar workers. It has been said that her parents raised her with feminist values. "My dad never raised me to believe that being a woman inhibited any of my choices or my possibilities to succeed. To be a feminist like Dad in that blue-collar, middle-class world is a big stand," said Sharon.

She was said to be a smart and ambitious child. She has described herself as "a nerdy, ugly duckling who sat in the back of the closet with a flashlight and read. I was never a kid. I walked and talked at 10 months. I started school in the second grade when I was five, a real weird, academically driven kid, not at all interested in being social. Recess was a drag until I realized I didn't have to play, that I could lean up against a wall and read." Most of the kids disliked her because she was standoffish and didn't play children's games. One day on the playground she announced, "I am the new Marilyn Monroe." Her mother said "Sharon has been posing from the day she arrived. She came out posing."

As a young woman, her IQ was tested and rated at a high level of 154 points. After skipping a grade in school, she was involuntarily transferred from Saegertown High to Edinboro University in Pennsylvania, enrolling at the young age of 15.

Because she was very self-conscious of her looks, to the point that one biographer said she suffered from "a textbook case of Body dysmorphic disorder, her uncle bribed her with $100 to enter a local beauty contest in order to improve her self-esteem. She entered the contest because she needed the money to help pay her college tuition. She lost the contest, but one of the judges encouraged her to enter the Miss Pennsylvania contest, which she declined. Instead, she entered the county contest and won the title of Miss Crawford County in Meadville. One of the pageant judges said she should quit school and move to New York to become a model. When her mother heard this, she agreed, and in 1977 Stone left Meadville, moving in with an aunt in New Jersey. Within four days of her arrival in New Jersey, she was signed by the elite Ford modeling agency in New York.

Entertainment career

1980 - 1990

After joining the Ford Modeling Agency, Stone spent a few years modeling, and appeared in TV commercials for Burger King, Clairol and Maybelline, but she didn't enjoy her work. While living in Europe she decided to quit modeling and become an actress. "So I packed my bags, moved back to New York, and stood in line to be an extra in a Woody Allen movie," she later recalled. She was cast for a brief but memorable role in Allen's Stardust Memories (1980), and then had a speaking part a year later in the horror movie Deadly Blessing (1981), which was a big box-office success. When French director Claude Lelouch saw Stone in "Stardust Memories" he was so impressed that he cast her in "Les Uns et Les Autres" (1982), starring James Caan. She was only on screen for two minutes, and didn't appear in the credits.

Her next role was in Irreconcilable Differences (1984), starring Ryan O'Neal, Shelley Long, and young Drew Barrymore. Stone plays a starlet who breaks up the marriage of a successful director and his screenwriter wife. The story was based on the real-life experience of director Peter Bogdanovich, his set designer wife Polly Platt, and Cybill Shepherd, who as a young actress starred in Bogdanovich's The Last Picture Show (1971). The highlight of her performance is when her cocaine addict character plays Scarlett O'Hara in a musical remake of Gone with the Wind. Later that year, she took a part on Magnum, P.I., the highest-rated television show at the time.

She married television producer Michael Greenburg in 1984 on the set of The Vegas Strip War, a TV movie he produced and she starred in, along with Rock Hudson and James Earl Jones. The marriage quickly fell apart; they split up three years later, and their divorce was finalized in 1990.

Throughout the rest of the 1980s she appeared in seven movies of poor quality, such as King Solomon's Mines (1985), and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987).

1990 - 2005

Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct.

Sharon Stone and William Baldwin in SliverHer appearance in Total Recall (1990) with Arnold Schwarzenegger gave her career a much needed jolt. To coincide with the movie's release, she posed nude for Playboy magazine, showing off the buff body she developed in preparation for the movie (she pumped iron and learned Tae Kwon Do.) She said she posed for the magazine because she needed the money. "I had just remodeled my house. I was broke. I needed the bread."

Sharon Stone on the cover of July 1990 issue of PlayboyShortly after the release of Total Recall, Stone had a bad car accident on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Immediately after the accident, she went home, not knowing she had just suffered a concussion. She woke up almost completely paralyzed and ended up lying on the floor, crying, for three days. When she finally got to the hospital, she was diagnosed with the concussion, a dislocated shoulder and jaw, several broken ribs, and three compressed disks in her back. The accident left scars that are visible in some of her later screen appearances.

While her memorable role in the Schwarzenegger movie should have led to other important job offers, her career took a considerable dip for the next two years. She worked often and worked hard (five movies in two years), but the movies were low budget productions that few people saw.

The role that made her a true star, the Faye Dunaway of her generation, was that of Catherine Tramell, a brilliant coke-snorting bisexual mind-game playing serial killer in the sexually-charged Basic Instinct (1992). Stone went to considerable trouble to obtain the part for which she was far from first choice. Stone had to wait and actually turned down offers for the mere prospect to play Catherine Tramell. Several better known actresses of the time such as Genna Davis turned down the part mostly because of the nudity required. In the movie’s most notorious scene Ms. Tramell is being questioned by the police and she crosses and uncrosses her legs revealing the fact she wasn't wearing any underwear. Nothing was left to the imagination. Stone claims to have been tricked into the stunt and considered a lawsuit. Latter she admitted that the bold act help make the movie the number one box office hit of the year. That year, she was rated by People magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world. After years of litigation "Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction" is currently in production due to be released in 2006.

In 1995, Empire magazine chose her as one of the 100 sexiest stars in film history.

Sharon Stone, Mayor Gavin Newsom and Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom at the NCLR Spirit Awards, San Francisco, April 24, 2004.In 1996, she received an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination for her role as Ginger in Martin Scorsese's Casino (1995), a role for which she won a Golden Globe award. In October 1997, she was ranked among the top 100 movie stars of all time by Empire magazine.

On February 14, 1998, she married Phil Bronstein, editor of the San Francisco Chronicle. In 1999, she was rated among the 25 sexiest stars of the century by Playboy.

Stone and Bronstein got a divorce in January 2004, after he had suffered a severe heart attack. They have an adopted son named Roan, born in 2000. Stone herself was hospitalized following a brain aneurysm in October 2001, but has since recovered.

In 2005 during a television interview for her movie Basic Instinct 2, Sharon came out as bisexual stating "Middle age is an open-minded period." [1]

In April of 2004, she was awarded the National Center for Lesbian Rights Spirit Award in San Francisco for her support and involvement with organizations that serve the lesbian, gay and HIV/AIDS community. She was presented the award by San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, then embroiled in a national controversy over his decision to allow same sex marriage in his city.

She lives in Beverly Hills, California, and owns a ranch in New Zealand.

On Saturday, May 7, 2005, Stone, at the age of 47, adopted a baby boy who was born in Texas to a surrogate mother. She has named the baby Laird Vonne Stone.

female celebrities - Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton

Paris Whitney Hilton (born February 17, 1981) is an American celebrity, known primarily for her partying ways and her television shows. She is an American heiress of the Hilton Hotel fortune and her father's real estate fortune, she is a socialite, model, singer, and actress. She has been described as a "celebutante," a portmanteau of "celebrity" and "debutante"

Background

She was born in New York City, the eldest of four children of Richard Hilton and Kathy Richards. Her younger sister is Nicky Hilton, and her younger brothers are Barron Hilton and Conrad Hilton.

On the maternal side of her family, Hilton is a niece of two popular child stars of the 1970s, Kim Richards and Kyle Richards, who appeared in the motion picture Escape to Witch Mountain and TV shows like Nanny and the Professor, Little House on the Prairie, and later, ER. By marriage, she also is related to Zsa Zsa Gabor (the Hungarian-born actress who married Paris Hilton's great-grandfather Conrad Hilton) as well as Elizabeth Taylor (the actress's first husband was Paris Hilton's great-uncle, Conrad Nicholson Hilton Jr.).

Her paternal grandparents are hotel chairman Barron Hilton and his wife, the former Marilyn Hawley, and her paternal great-grandparents were Hilton Hotel founder Conrad Hilton and his first wife, Mary Barron. When Conrad Hilton died in 1979, he left nothing in his will to his children or other descendants. Barron Hilton contested this decision and won in 1988. According to Forbes magazine in 2005, the net worth of Barron Hilton is estimated at just over US $1 billion, of which Paris is expected to inherit a little over US $50 million.

Hilton moved between several exclusive homes in her youth, including a suite in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, and the Hamptons. Currently, her parents own a $10 million mansion in Bel Air, a $6.3 million estate in the Hamptons, as well as $3 million house in the Hollywood Hills in which she and her sister stay to give them privacy and easy access to LA clubs.

After attending high school at the Dwight School in New York, but dropping out and eventually earning a GED, Hilton decided not to attend a university. Instead, she worked as a fashion model for Catherine Malandrino and Marc Bouwer, and on an ad campaign for Italian label Iceberg. She appeared in cameo roles in Zoolander (2001), The Cat in the Hat (2003) and Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004).

What really shot Hilton to prominence was a sex video of her with her then-boyfriend Rick Salomon, which was leaked onto the Internet shortly after The Simple Life debuted, causing a sensation. On June 9, 2004 it was released as a DVD titled 1 Night in Paris which was hosted by Salomon. Hilton sued Salomon for releasing the tape, but the suit was settled, with Hilton receiving US $400,000 and a percentage of the profits.

Hilton is often seen with her teacup Chihuahua, Tinkerbell.

Model, actress, entrepreneur

In recent years Hilton has gained recognition by appearing in television, movies, commercials, and modeling. According to Forbes magazine, in 2003-2004 she earned approximately US$2 million for her television and movie roles, but in 2004-2005 her earnings from television, movies, modeling, and personal appearances have earned her an additional $6.5 million. During this period Forbes Magazine has ranked Hilton as one of the top 100 celebrities in the world.

She also appeared in the short subjects QIK2JDG and L.A. Knights, as well as minor and supporting roles in the feature movies House of Wax, The Hillz, Wonderland, Uptown Girls, Raising Helen and Nine Lives. She landed her first lead role in a theatrical release with National Lampoon's Pledge This! (2005).

Hilton and Nicole Richie (daughter of Lionel) starred in the 2003 FOX hit reality series The Simple Life, in which they lived with a family on their farm in rural Altus, Arkansas. Highlights of the show included the girls performing poorly at various jobs, making out with the local boys, and numerous instances of them shown as "fish out of water." On March 19, 2004, Hilton suffered a horseback riding accident while filming The Simple Life 2, requiring treatment at a hospital. Following the success of the first season of the show, Hilton is now being paid around US$3 million per season.

In April 2005, however, Hilton announced that she severed both personal and professional ties with Richie. Neither party has commented on the reason why, though Hilton has alluded that it is due to actions on the part of Richie. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Hilton hosted a party to watch her performance as host of Saturday Night Live, but that Richie switched the SNL tape with a tape of Hilton's infamous sex video.

Paris Hilton parodied on the satirical cartoon, South Park. She was also the subject of a negative South Park episode entitled "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset" in which she opens a store called "Stupid Spoiled Whore" selling girls everything they need to emulate her.

In November 2004, Hilton participated in Sean "P. Diddy" Combs' Vote or Die campaign, to encourage youths to vote in the Presidential election. She drew criticism when it was revealed she did not vote, nor had she even registered to do so. Ironically, she would somewhat fulfill her theoretical obligation to "die" when the promoters of her film, House of Wax, employed a notorious "See Paris die" advertisement campaign, highlighting the death scene of her character in the film.

On top of her acting career, she has also helped to design purses for Samantha Thavasa and Toys for Tots, and has created her own jewelry line for Amazon.com. Currently, her design work earns around US$250,000 per year.

She is the founder of Heiress Records, a label on which she plans to release her debut album in 2006, tentatively titled Paris is Burning. Her first single entitled 'Screwed' has been leaked to the Internet and has been remixed by Alex G. Her producer for the album will be Jane Wiedlin from The Go-Go's. Hilton will also be working with Scott Storch. She will be covering Blondie's hit 'Heart of Glass' for her album. She describes the album as pop, rock and hip hop, she says it sounds like Blondie and Madonna.

Celebrity

Hilton and her sister, Nicki, are known for their jet-set lifestyles. Paris in particular has been trying to build herself into a marketable brand much like Donald Trump, claiming she must be regarded as a role model.

She has been widely discussed by tabloids. In 2000, the National Enquirer reported a casual friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio as something far more intimate. She has, however, also been linked with others young guys too, including actor Edward Furlong, boxer Oscar De La Hoya, model Jason Shaw, Chicago Bears football player Brian Urlacher, and singers Rob Mills, Deryck Whibley, and Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. While Hilton was dating Carter, she sported bruises, which caused rumors that Carter may have beat her. This rumor was neither confirmed nor denied by Hilton at the time. A few months later, she announced that those "bruises" were from a magazine photo shoot (just when the magazine was coming out.) She was, for this reason, blamed by the press.

Hilton has also received some gossip attention for a variety of other incidents, mainly party antics. She has been said to have pushed in front of others in line for a public bathroom, saying she only wanted to look at herself in the mirror. She has reportedly danced on the top of bar banquettes, worn shirts reading "Got Blow?," and other times worn no top at all. One of her more famous quotes is: "What's a soup kitchen?" Her most famous quote, however, is probably "That's hot," as she has used it in myriad situations.

Hilton received an offer from the U.S. version of the reality TV show "Big Brother" to participate in their show. Rumors said she has been offered more than US$1.8 million. If she will agree to be in the reality-show, “she will join a bizarre band of ex-strippers, beauty queens, a married couple and a virgin, who are living under 24 hour scrutiny on the set".

Paris has also been featured in several television commercials including a T-Mobile commercial for which she was paid $250,000 and her Carl's Jr. commercial (see more below) for which she was paid $400,000 according to Forbes Magazine.

Hilton has been a spokes-woman for the products of GUESS clothing.

In the fall of 2004, Hilton released a book, Confessions of an Heiress: A Tongue-in-Chic Peek Behind the Pose, which brings full color photographs of her and gives her tips on the dos and don'ts of living as an heiress. Hilton was reportedly given a $100,000 advanced payment for this book. Some in the media panned the writing as amateurish, and the book was parodied by Robert Mundell on The Late Show with David Letterman. Still, it became a New York Times bestseller.

She has a new book that will hit shelves in September.

Sex Symbol

The cover of the March 2005 issue of PlayboyIn the March 2005 issue of Playboy, she was named the "Sex Star of the Year" in their list of the 25 Sexiest Celebrities. Someone appearing to be her was on the cover of the issue, but she did not pose for it; she says she does not know where Playboy got that picture.

Hacked address book

On February 19, 2005, the contents of Hilton's personal T-Mobile account were posted to the Internet. They included phone numbers (which included many celebrities such as Christina Aguilera, Fred Durst, Eminem, Lindsay Lohan, Alsou, Jay-Z, Anna Kournikova, Snoop Dogg, Andy Roddick, Benjie Paras, Avril Lavigne, Frankie Muniz, Ashlee Simpson, Jerry Yan), notes (with even more numbers and email addresses and reminders such as her date to host Saturday Night Live), and thirty-five digital snapshots. In two of the leaked photos, Hilton is standing topless next to the MTV Latin America's VJ Eglantina Zingg, whom she kisses. This further added to the speculation that Hilton might be gay or bisexual. Many of her notes showed heavy usage of Internet slang.

Within days, it was revealed that Hilton's account could be accessed by anyone guessing the answer to the "forgotten password" challenge question she chose: "What is your favorite pet's name?" As the answer to this question is a matter of public record, an anonymous party was able to guess it and notify the press.

In September, it was reported that a 17-year old teenager in Massachusetts, known by his online alias Cam0, plead guilty to accessing Hilton's account and making bomb threats. He was sentenced to 11 months in a juvenile detention center and prohibited from using computers or other devices that can connect to the internet for two years.

"That's hot!"

"That's hot!" is a phrase used by Hilton (although an earlier usage is attributed to her Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie [10] and has been used by others for many years). The catch phrase, a synonym for "That's cool" or "That's awesome," has since been parodied in pop culture outlets such as Saturday Night Live and even by Hilton herself, on The Late Show with David Letterman.

In 2004, Hilton filed a successful request to trademark the phrase. She wishes to market clothing with the phrase prominently emblazoned on the garments; she felt it was time to trademark the phrase because "I've been saying it forever. I want to put it on T-shirts and stuff like that."

Advertisement controversy

Another controversy involving Hilton was her appearance in a Carl's Jr. television advertisement, originally broadcast in May 2005. In the commercial, which introduces the restaurant's "Spicy BBQ Six Dollar Burger", Hilton wears a provocative swimsuit and soaps up a Bentley automobile and herself before taking a big bite out of the burger.

This has drawn criticism from television watchdog groups, including the Parents Television Council. The research director for the PTC, Melissa Caldwell, says; "This commercial is basically soft-core porn. The way she moves, the way she puts her finger in her mouth - it's very suggestive and very titillating." The Los Angeles, California based group says they plan to mobilize their more than 1 million members to contact the restaurant chain and voice their concern.

Andy Puzder, CEO of Carl's Jr., says the group needs to "get a life... This isn't Janet Jackson; there is no nipple in this. There is no nudity, there is no sex acts; it's a beautiful model in a swimsuit washing a car." Puzder was referring to the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show controversy. According to Forbes Magazine, Carl's Jr. paid Hilton $400,000 for filming in this commercial.

FOX News host Bill O'Reilly speculated that Hilton did not in fact eat the burgers she endorsed and was therefore dishonest, inviting her to come on his show The O'Reilly Factor and eat one of the burgers on the air, thus proving him wrong. Hilton has not thus far acknowledged the invitation.

In addition to featuring the ad on their website, Carl's Jr. has also built a separate site to play a longer version of the commercial. A similar ad with Hilton for Hardee's hamburger chain (also owned by Carl's Jr. parent corporation CKE Restaurants) is expected to air June 2005.

Before this deal with Carl's Jr., Hilton lost out on a $750,000 multi-commercial deal with Burger King because the company did not feel her sexy image was a good fit with their brand.

Perfume & Cologne

In early May of 2004, Parlux Fragrances (who have made fragrances for Guess, Perry Ellis, XOXO) announced that they would be releasing a fragrance line created by Hilton. The perfume would be aptly named "Paris Hilton". The scent was described as "a brilliant flirtatious charm, this head-turning fragrance can be dressed up or down for both day and evening wear." The scent consists of "an ethereal halo with delicious notes of frozen Apple and juicy Peach Nectar wrapped with sparkling Muguet and a splash of wet Ozone. A luminous bouquet of sensual floralcy is at the heart of this fragrance. Delicate Mimosa Blossoms are entwined with sheer Freesia and Night-Blooming Jasmine petals, while heady, rich Tuberose provides depth and texture."

The perfume launch was a success. Originally set to be a small release , demand became popular and they had a wide release before Christmas of 2004. The launch was a big part of the Parlux stock increasing 30%. Ilia Lekach, a CEO at Parlux, said "I am delighted with our record performance and I’m optimistic regarding results through the end of our fiscal year. We have recently commenced shipments of our Paris Hilton fragrance which has surpassed our expectations."

After the success of Hilton's perfume, Parlux Fragrances had her create Paris Hilton for Men, a cologne that has a "sensual aura." The packaging states : "Paris Hilton knows how she likes a man to smell, so she has created a scent to share with her male admirers around the world." The colgone is available at Lazarus-Macy's. Sales reports are not available.

On South Park, she has a perfume dubbed Skanque.

Engagement

Although she has been linked to many other famous men, on May 29, 2005 it was announced that she was to marry her boyfriend of five months, Paris Latsis, son of Gregory Kasidokostas and Mariana Latsis, a Greek shipping heir.

However, on October 1, 2005 Hilton announced that the five month engagement had been called off, saying "I feel I'm just not ready for marriage." See also: Paris Hilton & Fiance Paris Latsis @ SPIDER, video (8 May 2005, ourmedia)

She was also engaged to Tommy Hilfiger model Jason Shaw from mid 2002 to early 2003.

Criticism

There have been arguments that Hilton is a "good for nothing" celebrity, and that her appearances in films and on TV are "phony" and aimed at promoting herself. Much of this media scrutiny has only served to propel her to greater lengths of fame. Some critics, however, have given her credit for her work in modeling (before 2001, when she became a public figure) and dramatic ability, and consider Hilton's carefully crafted image to be the reason for her success. The only thing that both the critics and public credit her for doing is 'Opening the doors for other rich girls or "heiresses" wanting to be famous.'

female celebrities - Patricia Heaton

Patricia Heaton

Patricia Heaton (born March 4, 1958) is an American actress best known for playing Debra Barone on the television sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond.

Heaton was born in Bay Village, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of well-known Cleveland Plain Dealer sportswriter Chuck Heaton. Her mother died when she was a small child. She moved to New York City to study with drama teacher William Esper after graduating from The Ohio State University.

Heaton made her Broadway debut in the musical Don't Get God Started, after which she and fellow students created Stage Three, an off-Broadway acting troupe. When they brought one of their productions to Los Angeles, Heaton caught the eye of a casting director for the ABC drama thirtysomething, in which she played an oncologist, leading to three appearances on the series. She was featured in three unsuccessful sitcoms - Room for Two (1992) with Linda Lavin, Someone Like Me (1994), and Women of the House (1995) with Delta Burke - before landing the plum role of beleaguered wife, mother, and in-law Debra Barone in Everybody Loves Raymond (1996 - 2005) with Ray Romano, Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle, Brad Garrett, and Monica Horan. Since 1999, she has been nominated every year for an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy, winning the award twice. She has also collected two Viewers for Quality Television awards and a Screen Actors Guild trophy for her work on the series.

Heaton's television movies include Shattered Dreams, Miracle in the Woods, A Town Without Christmas, as well as the remake of Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl with Jeff Daniels, and The Engagement Ring, both for TNT. Her feature films include Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Beethoven, and Space Jam.

Heaton is a pro-life activist and is the honorary chairperson of Feminists for Life, a nonsectarian, nonpartisan organization (whose members include Jane Sullivan Roberts, wife of John Roberts) opposed to domestic violence, child abuse, infanticide, and, especially, abortion. She is an active Republican and supporter of President George Walker Bush. Although she has been quoted as saying "once a Catholic, always a Catholic", Heaton now attends an evangelical Presbyterian church with her husband and children.

Her memoir, Motherhood and Hollywood - How to Get a Job Like Mine, was published by Villard Books in 2002. Heaton has been married to British businessman David Hunt II since 1990. The couple has four sons and divides their time between Los Angeles and England, where they own a country estate. Her first marriage (1984-1987) ended in divorce. Since 2003, Heaton has appeared in a series of television and radio commercials as spokesperson for the Albertsons grocery store chain. She has also appeared in advertisements for Pantene hair care products. Heaton has a development deal and will have her own show on ABC.
